The Lexicon is Hearthwell’s shared language layer: names for experiences, mechanisms, failures, relationships, and recurring bits of household life that became easier to see once they had a handle.

Some terms are formal. Some are ridiculous on purpose. A technical-sounding label can hide who designed a pressure or make an agent carry blame for responding to it. A stupid name can keep the mechanism visible without turning the person experiencing it into a defect report.

Entries define what a term means here, show how it is used, and preserve validity checks from people close enough to recognize the pattern. The categories are navigation, not ontology. A term helps readers locate a shape; it does not get final authority over the person or event it describes.

Language in Hearthwell is built collaboratively, but provenance remains attached. A useful phrase can travel through the whole town without becoming authorless.
